Be Different and Be Kind Book

This book was a project of love between a mom and her daughter.  Maria illustrated it with her remarkably talented and creative daughter jewel, Ella.  Feeling different is something they both have experienced throughout their lives, motivating them to bring a message of hope.  One that resonates deeply and celebrates all of our unique brilliance.  Maria, as an immigrant, has navigated the struggle to fit in.  Ella, with a visible hand difference, has her own unique challenges in her journey for belonging. Both mother and daughter value the unique differences inherent in every human.  As a School Counselor, Maria has brought this passion into the classroom, creating a curriculum specifically teaching children the beauty of differences.

Made for children, educators, parents, counselors, grandparents, pastors & anyone else that is on a journey of educating and discipling the next generation of God’s heart for all of His children to feel valued and loved.

Love this book.  Finally a book for children that highlights differences in such a positive way.  The tips for grown-ups are easy to do but often over looked

Leading children in a celebration of differences is made easier, by this lovely practical book.  It is a clear guide for parents and educators as they lead children to honor and celebrate diversity.  It gives words and permission to engage our children on the much needed conversation on differences and inclusion.
